Increasing energy efficiency is important and there are many rebates and incentives available to help homeowners upgrade to high efficiency furnaces and air conditioners. Manufacturers, the provincial government and even energy distributors are all offering their own HVAC rebates to help Ontario homeowners switch to more energy friendly heating and cooling systems—and help the planet in the process!
While these rebates can significantly lower the cost of a new HVAC system—it can be extremely confusing to navigate the eligibility of the different offers. Here are some of the most common questions we get about different HVAC rebates.
Are rebates instant savings?
The terms of each rebate are different. For example, the Daikin winter promotion offers instant savings on qualifying home comfort systems, while the GreenON rebate will come in the form of a cheque after installation.
Do I qualify for all rebates?
Eligibility requirements differ for each rebate. You might be able to take advantage of one rebate, but not qualify for another HVAC rebate. Also, some rebates can only be used by themselves and cannot be combined with any other incentive.
How do I ensure that I’m getting the best incentive?
The best way to ensure that you’re saving as much as possible on a new home comfort system is to work with a reputable heating and cooling company. A knowledgeable company will be able to explain what you’re qualified for and which option is best for you and your home.
Do you own a cottage?
There are many rebate and incentive options when you’re ready to upgrade to a high efficiency furnace or air conditioner. While seasonal promotions, government rebates and energy distributor incentives can help cover the cost of a new heating and cooling system—it can be confusing to understand which HVAC rebates you qualify for.
