What Is the Canada Greener Homes Loan?
The Canada Greener Homes Loan is an interest-free financing option ranging from $5,000 to $40,000, designed to help eligible homeowners make energy-efficient upgrades to their homes.
Each eligible homeowner and property can access one loan, which is repayable over 10 years. A portion of up to 15% of the total loan amount can be advanced to start hiring contractors and kick off the retrofit work. How to Apply for the Greener Homes Loan
Step 1: Schedule an Energy Assessment.
Start by arranging an energy assessment with a certified energy advisor. This assessment will give you a detailed report on your home’s energy efficiency, suggest potential improvements, and assist you in determining the loan amount needed for these upgrades.
Step 2: Evaluate Your Loan Options.

2025 Update: Kyle came out for our semi-annual inspection to make sure our Air Conditioners were running properly. Kyle was so courteous, helpful, dedicated and polite. Kyle assured me everything was... good to go and I have to say it was a pleasure to have him here at our home.LATEST UPDATE: So, here it is Saturday, August 24, 2024 and I have a split air conditioner in an independent building and all of a sudden I hear water dripping INSIDE and down my painted wall and onto some very important documents. Naturally, I call Fahrhall at once. Rabina was very understanding and compassionate and had empathy about my not so good 73 year lungs and she said she would contact Aaron and have him come out. Aaron was here in a reasonable amount of time. Aaron is super polite, understanding and knowledgeable about the issues of split air conditioners and again he showed compassion about my not so good lungs. He did an excellent job and was both thorough and efficient! I was not only impressed but extremely pleased with the awesome job he did!! Excellent company for all your home heating colling needs . Last year Tony sold us a newer version extreme cold climate . Air Sourse heat pump by Daikin. So far extremely happy.Last year the coldest... Month Is cost around 50 dollars extras to heat a 1200sq foot 3 bedroom house.using electricity. .Spring 2024 we decided to get away from a monthly reliance rental and have Farhall installed and new tankles gas on demand heater IBC so far amazing supper quiet and saving on gas usage compared to the old unit.Project number 3 that Farhall has done out at mh place within 2 years.. Decided to install a heat pump in shop instead of having to run gas ⛽️ and hydro to cool and heat. With one unit thast does both like the house. My only regret with the job in the shop is whish would have gone with same model as the house . 🏠. Oh well live and learn 😌. For future reference anyone reading this review go with the extreme cold climate heat pump. The one i decided to go with is only good down to -15c. At-7 its was just keeping up but I will say never stopped working just the btu output diminished as the temp drops outside. and using lots of hydro compared to house unit . Whice sales reps would have puched me to go with the samd uniy as the house so kinda inproper advised. I should have whent thf other wsy or run gas as back up..Besides that extremely happy with dealing With Jenna. They are very friendly, personable and honest. They come when needed and remind me when service is due. One time they even called to say they had a special on and that they should have charged me... less and that THEY owed ME money and refunded me the difference.
