Difference Between a Ductless and Central AC
- Advice, air conditioner, Air Conditioner Tips, ductless, Fahrhall, HVAC System, Windsor
When considering AC installation, there are two different systems that you could use: ductless or central AC. Both have their benefits and deciding which one is best for your home will depend on a number of factors.
As the name implies, ductless systems do not require ductwork to deliver cool air throughout the home. Instead, mounted indoor units provide zoned cooling to the room they’re installed in. Since the unit doesn’t require ducts, it’s extremely easy to install and has the flexibility to be used in areas that traditional air conditioners couldn’t reach. A ductless system can also be more efficient and can lead to increased savings on energy bills and reduced carbon footprint. There’s also less maintenance and fewer components which translates to less repairs to worry about.
If you already have ducts in your home, installing or upgrading a central air conditioner could be the best solution. It is definitely the most popular cooling option available due to its ability to provide even cooling throughout the entire home. Central AC can be a cost-effective option up-front when compared to a ductless system and they are more effective at cooling larger homes.
